Medical Staff Talent
Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Consultant Endocrinologist to a private family in Abu Dhabi, providing metabolic and longevity medicine for a Principal from a private clinical suite within the family’s residence.
The appointment carries continuity endocrine care and a preventative programme designed around the Principal, with visiting specialists and Abu Dhabi’s tertiary centres coordinated by the family’s own physician.
The Mandate
- Continuity endocrine and metabolic care for a Principal: diabetes and cardiometabolic risk, thyroid, bone health and hormonal medicine within the evidence.
- Design and oversight of a preventative metabolic and longevity programme with continuous biomarker surveillance.
- Coordination of visiting cardiology, nutrition and performance staff, and direct procurement input over diagnostic equipment.
- Absolute discretion under NDA.
Candidate Requirements
- CCT in Endocrinology & Diabetes, or an equivalent European specialist certification, from a Tier-1 UK or European institution.
- Minimum seven years post-certification consultant-grade practice, with demonstrable depth in cardiometabolic and preventative medicine.
- Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
- Fluent English.
- Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
- Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
- The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
Package
- £280,000 – £360,000 per annum, tax-free and liquid
- Private accommodation within the residence and relocation arranged by the family
- Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability
Scope of Our Role
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
What this appointment asks of you
One Principal, one endocrinologist, and a mandate to keep a metabolic risk profile stable for decades rather than to treat it in episodes. The consultant leads diabetes prevention and management, cardiometabolic risk, thyroid, bone and hormonal medicine, and designs the preventative programme around them — continuous glucose monitoring, body composition and advanced biomarker surveillance interpreted by a specialist rather than a dashboard. Abu Dhabi’s tertiary centres provide the procedural setting when required; the family expects its physician to coordinate them and to travel with the Principal for part of the year. When you travel with the family, all local arrangements (visa, licensing and coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers. Seven years of consultant-grade practice is the threshold; the family will select for rigour, plain-spoken advice and discretion.
How the package is structured
The figure quoted above — £280,000 – £360,000 per annum — is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: the UAE levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.
Accommodation, transport and repatriation flights sit outside the base figure — we ask every physician to confirm how indemnity will be arranged, and to check the territory, the limits and the run-off cover before signing, and our note on malpractice insurance in the Gulf explains what to look for.
End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.
If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is the federal capital and the quieter of the two Emirati cities: island neighbourhoods, a long Corniche, Saadiyat’s museums and beaches, Yas Island’s sport and entertainment, and a residential market that favours villas and calm. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family — private quarters within the residence — so relocation is about settling rather than searching.
Winters are mild and outdoor; summers are hot. Abu Dhabi International flies direct to London and the European hubs, and Dubai is little more than an hour by road. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.
How the search is run
We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.
If you proceed, your credentials are verified, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are agreed directly between you and the family. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physician appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side of the process.
