Medical Staff Talent
Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Consultant Paediatrician to a private family in Jeddah, providing continuity paediatric care for the children of the family within the private residence.
The appointment sits alongside the household’s paediatric nursing team and visiting sub-specialists, with the consultant holding clinical responsibility for the children’s day-to-day and preventative medicine.
The Mandate
- Continuity general paediatric care for the children of the household, including developmental surveillance, immunisation governance and acute presentations.
- Clinical lead for the household’s paediatric nurses — protocols, escalation pathways and medication governance.
- Coordination of visiting sub-specialists and any hospital episode in Jeddah or abroad.
- Absolute discretion under NDA.
Candidate Requirements
- CCT in Paediatrics, or an equivalent European specialist certification, from a Tier-1 UK or European institution.
- Minimum seven years post-certification consultant-grade practice, including substantive general and acute paediatrics.
- Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
- Fluent English.
- Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
- Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
- The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
Package
- £260,000 – £340,000 per annum, tax-free and liquid
- Private accommodation within the residence and relocation arranged by the family
- Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability
Scope of Our Role
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
What this appointment asks of you
The Jeddah household has children of several ages and wants one physician who knows all of them. That is the appointment: routine paediatrics done to a standard the parents can see, acute presentations managed calmly inside the residence, immunisation and growth governance kept impeccably, and a referral network — in Jeddah, Riyadh and abroad — used with judgement rather than reflex. The consultant also sets the clinical framework the household’s paediatric nurses work within. Seven years of consultant-grade practice with substantive acute paediatrics is required; the family will select for steadiness under pressure, clarity with parents and the discretion a private family expects of everyone in its employ.
Reading the package
Base remuneration for this appointment is £260,000 – £340,000 per annum, paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in Saudi Arabia, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.
Private accommodation within the residence, transport and flights are provided in addition to base; before signing, confirm how indemnity will be arranged and read the policy territory and the run-off provision — medical liability in the UAE and Saudi Arabia sets out the questions to ask.
An end-of-service gratuity accrues for every completed year of service and is settled on departure — see end-of-service gratuity and repatriation for the calculation and the contract clauses that govern it.
Your home-country tax position on departure — split-year treatment for UK residents, exit formalities elsewhere in Europe — is worth settling with an independent cross-border adviser before the first salary lands, and cost of living and net position for Gulf clinicians gives the household-level numbers.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Jeddah
Life in Jeddah is lived along the water: the Corniche, the marinas, the Red Sea reefs, and a restaurant scene that reflects the city’s history as the pilgrimage port and trading hub of the Hijaz. It is a softer introduction to the Kingdom than the capital, and household appointments here typically include accommodation within the residence, provided by the family.
Direct flights to London run daily and take around seven hours; Riyadh is an hour away. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments that make the first six months easier.
How the search is run
We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.
If you proceed, your credentials are verified, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are agreed directly between you and the family. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physician appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side of the process.
