Medical Staff Talent · Private Families
Brief a private clinician before the first introduction.
For principals’ offices, chiefs of staff, household managers and family offices in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Set out the care, the deployment and the household, and a confidential brief is ready to forward. Nothing entered here is stored or sent anywhere.
Why a written brief comes before any introduction
A private family rarely recruits a clinician the way an institution does. There is no advertised vacancy and no panel. There is a principal’s office, a chief of staff or a family office holding a need that is often urgent and always private, and a small number of UK & European-trained clinicians who will be approached one by one under NDA. The quality of that approach depends almost entirely on how clearly the need is written down before anyone is contacted.
A brief settles four questions early: who the care is for, how the clinician will work, where the care will be delivered, and what the household expects in terms of discretion. Answered in advance, those questions keep the search narrow, protect the family’s privacy and stop a shortlist being re-run halfway through because the deployment model changed. The full sequence that follows a brief is set out in The Confidential Hiring Process for Private Families.
The shortlist is only as precise as the brief that opened the search.
What each part of the brief decides
Service line and clinical focus
Private & Maternity Nurses cover newborn and maternity care as well as critical care step-down, geriatric care, residence rotas and travel nursing; they are placed as a matched pair so continuity of care never rests on one person. Physiotherapists and Osteopaths cover motor recovery, chronic pain, biomechanics and longevity in residences and on travel. Private & Concierge Physicians cover family medicine, longevity medicine, live-in household appointments and discreet accompaniment. See the profiles for nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths and physicians.
Deployment model
The private families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone: every role is live-in and single-status. Within that, Live-In, Rotational, Fixed-Term, Travelling and Locum appointments draw on different clinicians. Deciding the model before the first approach is the single cheapest way to protect the timeline; the options are compared in The Five Deployment Models Private Families Use for Their Clinicians.
Local arrangements
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers. Medical Staff Talent does not advise on licensing, visas or sponsorship; background reading is available in our Gulf licensing reference guides.
Discretion
Every household appointment runs under NDA. The brief records whether the household also expects no social media and no public-facing profile, which narrows the pool from the outset and should be known before a clinician is approached. What a family office should verify before any appointment is listed in the Family Office Checklist for Vetting a Private Medical Team.
Frequently asked questions
Is anything I enter stored or sent to Medical Staff Talent?
No. The brief is assembled in your browser and nothing is saved or transmitted. It leaves the page only when you copy it and send it yourself.
Who should prepare the brief?
Whoever holds the household’s confidence on medical matters: usually the chief of staff, the household manager or the family office, sometimes with input from the family’s existing physician.
Why are private nurses placed in pairs?
A single nurse cannot cover nights, days off and leave without a gap. A matched pair shares the rota and keeps continuity of care inside the household.
Does Medical Staff Talent employ the clinician or obtain the licence?
No. Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The family signs the contract directly with the clinician and pays the introduction fee. Medical Staff Talent does not advise on licensing, visas or sponsorship; all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
How long does an appointment take once the brief is ready?
It depends on the appointment, the jurisdiction and when the family’s office opens the local arrangements. The Time-to-Hire Estimator sets out realistic ranges.
