Neurological Rehabilitation Physiotherapist — Private Family, Abu Dhabi

Medical Staff Talent is searching for a UK & European-trained Neurological Rehabilitation Physiotherapist for a private family based in Abu Dhabi. An older family member is recovering from a stroke, and the family wants intensive, patient rehabilitation at home rather than a long hospital stay.

Expect regular travel with the family, including summers in Europe and periods on the family yacht. As is usual for household appointments in the Gulf, the family expects availability around the clock and a six-day working week.

The Mandate

• Daily neurological rehabilitation focused on gait, balance, transfers and upper-limb function.
• Goal-setting with the patient, the family and the visiting neurologist, with measured outcomes.
• Training household carers and nurses in safe handling and the home exercise plan.
• Adapting the residence and travel arrangements to support safe mobility.
• Complete confidentiality, under a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Requirements

• Physiotherapy degree from a UK or European institution, with substantive neurological rehabilitation practice (stroke, brain injury or movement disorders).
• At least 7 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
• Full registration, in good standing, with a UK or European regulator.
• Experience in community neuro-rehabilitation is valued.
• Fluent English and a calm, courteous manner.
• Able to start within six weeks of an offer.
• Willingness to relocate alone to a live-in, single-status appointment, and to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.
• Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Package

• From £60,000 a year gross, depending on experience.
• Medical insurance is covered; professional indemnity insurance is not included.
• Flights and travel are always paid for by the family.
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Private accommodation in the residence, provided free.
• Permanent role with annual leave, under a contract renewed yearly with the family.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
