Private Duty Nurse — Private Family, Eastern Province

Medical Staff Talent

Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Private Duty Nurse to a private family in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, providing continuity nursing care within the private residence.

The appointment sits at the centre of the family’s day-to-day clinical care — close coordination with visiting consultants, calm continuity across the household, and absolute discretion throughout.

The Mandate

  • Day-to-day private duty nursing care within the household.
  • Continuity of care across routine health management, minor acute presentations and coordination with visiting consultants.
  • Close, confidential liaison with family members on care planning.
  • Absolute discretion under NDA.

Candidate Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification from a Tier-1 UK or European institution, with current registration (NMC, NMBI or an equivalent European regulator).
  • Minimum five years’ experience, including substantive private duty, family or high-acuity nursing.
  • Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
  • Fluent English.
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
  • Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
  • Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.

Package

  • From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
  • Private furnished accommodation and relocation arranged by the family
  • Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

What this appointment asks of you

Continuity nursing within a private family residence in the Eastern Province: day-to-day care for named members of the family, routine health management, minor acute presentations, medication governance and close coordination with the consultants who visit the residence. The nurse is a settled presence rather than a rotating one, which is why the household selects for composure, discretion and precision over any particular specialism, and why substantive private duty, family or high-acuity experience is the entry point. The upper end of the range recognises seniority and breadth. Expect a calm, well-resourced environment, clear protocol, and a family that notices the small professional courtesies as much as the clinical outcomes.

How the package is structured

The package starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. It is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: Saudi Arabia levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.

Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.

End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in the Eastern Province

The Eastern Province — Al Khobar, Dammam and Dhahran — is the Kingdom’s Gulf coast and home to its longest-established international community, built around the energy sector over decades. The result is a settled expatriate infrastructure: mature compounds and a Corniche. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family within the residence.

Winters are mild; summers are hot and humid. King Fahd International Airport connects to London and the European hubs, and Riyadh is a short flight or a comfortable drive. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

What happens when you apply

The household has retained us exclusively, which shapes how the search runs: there is no agency panel and no CV database. Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, holds a confidential briefing call with every candidate we take forward — the appointment in detail, the household’s expectations and the life around the post — before anything is committed to paper.

From there the sequence is fixed: dossier and credential verification, an anonymised profile to the family office with your written authorisation, video interviews, an in-person meeting arranged by the household, then offer, NDA and a contract agreed directly with the family. The time-to-hire estimator shows what each stage takes for a nurse appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side.
