Medical Staff Talent
Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Private Maternity Nurse to a private family in Dubai, providing newborn care and post-natal recovery nursing within the family’s residence.
The nurse works one-to-one with the mother and child, in coordination with the family’s obstetrician and paediatrician, and travels with the family when it moves between residences during the first year.
The Mandate
- One-to-one newborn care: feeding support, sleep and settling routines, growth and jaundice surveillance and safe-sleep governance.
- Post-natal recovery nursing for the mother in coordination with the visiting obstetric and paediatric consultants.
- Nursery protocols, documentation and travel planning when the family moves between residences.
- Absolute discretion under NDA.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification from a Tier-1 UK or European institution, with current registration (NMC, NMBI or an equivalent European regulator) and either registered midwife status or substantive maternity, neonatal or newborn-care practice.
- Minimum five years’ experience, including substantive newborn and post-natal care in private or high-standing settings.
- Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
- Fluent English.
- Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
- Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
- The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
- Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.
Package
- From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
- Private accommodation within the residence and relocation arranged by the family
- Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability
Scope of Our Role
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
What this appointment asks of you
The family has one request: that the first year of the child’s life be run by someone who has done this many times before and who never needs to be asked twice. The nurse establishes feeding and sleep routines, keeps growth and jaundice surveillance to a clinical standard, supports the mother’s recovery, briefs the visiting obstetrician and paediatrician, and keeps documentation that would satisfy any regulator. The family travels, and the nurse travels with it. Five years including substantive newborn and post-natal practice is the threshold; Dubai’s private families select for composure, warmth and an instinct for when to be invisible.
How the package is structured
The package starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. It is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: the UAE levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.
Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.
End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.
If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Dubai
Dubai needs little introduction: a global hub with direct flights to almost everywhere, a residential market that runs from Jumeirah and the Palm to the villa communities of Dubai Hills and Arabian Ranches, and a service culture built around people who arrive from abroad. Household appointments normally include accommodation provided by the family — private quarters within the residence — so the practical question is how you will spend your time off.
Winters are the reason people stay; summers are hot and lived indoors or on the water early in the day. London is around seven hours by direct flight. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.
How we run this search
Every appointment of this kind follows the same discipline. It begins with a confidential briefing call with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, covering your clinical profile, your motivations and your readiness to relocate alone; nothing is written down that you have not agreed to share. Your qualifications, registration and references are then verified before anyone else is involved.
The household or its family office is briefed anonymously. Your name and documents are shared only with your written authorisation, first-stage interviews are held by video, and a final meeting is arranged in person — usually with travel organised by the household. Offer, NDA and contract follow, agreed directly between you and the family. Our time-to-hire estimator shows how long each stage takes; the confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting pages explain how the household side is governed.
