Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is exclusively appointing a UK & European-trained Private Physiotherapist to provide dedicated, one-to-one rehabilitative care for a VIP client in Dubai. The appointed clinician oversees the client’s musculoskeletal health, delivering outcomes-focused therapy in a private residence and aboard a private yacht during international travel.

This is a role for a highly experienced specialist who combines clinical excellence with the adaptability that a travelling household requires.

The Mandate

  • Advanced musculoskeletal and manual therapy. World-class musculoskeletal care with a strong emphasis on manual therapy and manipulation techniques to maintain mobility, manage chronic conditions and optimise physical function.
  • Hydrotherapy management. Design, implementation and oversight of specific hydrotherapy blocks and aquatic rehabilitation programmes as a core component of the client’s wellness routine.
  • Medical coordination. Primary clinical lead for physiotherapy, coordinating with local consultants, orthopaedic specialists and premium clinics in Dubai and internationally.
  • Travel and yacht accompaniment. Accompanying the client on business and leisure trips, ensuring continuity of therapy and medical support while travelling on a private yacht.
  • Clinical governance. Meticulous, confidential clinical records that secure patient safety, continuity of care and professional accountability.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Experience: minimum five years of recent post-graduate experience within musculoskeletal, sports medicine or orthopaedic practice.
  • Clinical expertise: proven advanced competence in manual therapy and manipulation is essential; experience delivering hydrotherapy is mandatory.
  • Background: experience within high-standard healthcare systems — the UK, Ireland or an accepted European jurisdiction — is strongly preferred.
  • Language: fluency in English.
  • Flexibility: willingness to undertake extensive international travel.
  • Discretion: the professionalism and confidentiality that a private family environment demands.

Package

  • £60,000 – £110,000 per annum, 100% tax-free, commensurate with experience.
  • High-quality private accommodation provided.
  • 30 days of paid annual leave.
  • All work-related international flights, transfers and accommodation fully covered.
  • Permanent, full-time appointment with a renewable contract.
  • Leadership-led induction and full relocation support.

Medical Staff Talent is an equal-opportunity recruiter. Selection is based strictly on qualifications, clinical experience and professional fit.

What this appointment asks of you

Hydrotherapy is what sets this appointment apart, and it is why the requirement is mandatory rather than preferred: the client’s wellness routine is built around aquatic rehabilitation blocks that the physiotherapist designs, delivers and progresses, alongside advanced manual therapy and manipulation for mobility and chronic musculoskeletal management. The setting alternates between a private residence in Dubai and a private yacht on international itineraries, so programmes have to travel — pool and sea work where they are available, land-based alternatives where they are not — and records have to be kept to a standard that lets orthopaedic specialists in Dubai or abroad pick up the thread at once. The household is choosing a senior musculoskeletal practitioner with five years of recent, relevant experience, the composure to be part of a travelling household, and the discretion to be an unobtrusive presence in a private home.

Licensing sequence: DHA, Dubai

Dubai licenses clinicians through the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on its Sheryan platform. For a residential appointment the sequence is:

  • DataFlow primary source verification of your physiotherapy degree, current registration (HCPC, CORU or your European regulator), certificate of good standing and experience letters on institutional letterhead — typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier.
  • DHA eligibility assessment: HCPC, CORU and equivalent European registrations are generally accepted at Tier-1, and we confirm the assessment position before you commit.
  • Issue of the eligibility letter, then licence activation under the licensed private medical entity associated with the household, followed by the residence visa and Emirates ID.
  • Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day.

With a complete dossier on day one we usually see DHA eligibility inside eight to twelve weeks. Our DHA licensing guide walks through each stage, registration versus licence explains why the eligibility letter is not yet a licence, and licensing for private residences explains how a household appointment is sponsored. Physiotherapists should also read DHA physiotherapist licensing in 2026.

How the package is structured

The figure quoted above — £60,000 – £110,000 per annum — is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: the UAE levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.

Accommodation, flights and medical cover are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.

End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from a cross-border adviser — we point every candidate to one, and tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Dubai

Dubai needs little introduction: a global hub with direct flights to almost everywhere, a residential market that runs from Jumeirah and the Palm to the villa communities of Dubai Hills and Arabian Ranches, and a service culture built around people who arrive from abroad. Household appointments normally include accommodation provided by the family — a villa within the compound or a residence nearby — so the practical question is how you will spend your time off.

Winters are the reason people stay; summers are hot and lived indoors or on the water early in the day. London is around seven hours by direct flight. Families have the region’s widest choice of British curriculum schools — the Dubai districts and school catchments guide explains catchments, and our international school fees benchmark gives current fees — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

How the search is run

We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.

If you proceed, your dossier is checked against the licensing route above, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are settled before any licensing fee is incurred. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physiotherapist appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side of the process.
