What the role covers
Comprehensive family health management aboard the vessel — preventative wellness programme design and delivery, day-to-day clinical monitoring, and acute response coordinated with shore-based specialists when required. Several mandates extend into aeromedical or private aviation legs where the family travels between the yacht and a residence.
What I tell candidates before they apply
Adaptability is not optional. The clinical setting changes constantly — different ports, different onboard medical infrastructure between charters, and a family whose itinerary can shift with short notice. Nurses who need a fixed routine tend not to settle into this work.
Confidentiality is a condition of the role, not a clause in the contract. NDA compliance is mandatory, and the family and vessel are never identified publicly at any stage. This matters more here than in almost any other placement we run, given how visible a well-known yacht can be in port.
The seasonal structure suits some nurses better than others. Who gets shortlisted
Registered nurses with four or more years of family or residential care experience, trained and licensed in the UK or an accepted European jurisdiction — reflecting our widened pool this year, spanning Western, Northern, Southern and Central Europe. Fluent English is essential; prior private duty or household nursing experience is valued more highly than general ward nursing for this category.
