Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent has been retained by a private family based in Riyadh to introduce a Travelling Family Medicine Physician: a UK & European-trained GP who becomes the family’s own doctor at home and travels with them wherever they go.

The physician provides first-contact and continuing family medicine to a small patient panel — the Principal and immediate family — from the family’s residence in Riyadh, and accompanies the family between residences and on international travel, often at short notice.

The Mandate

  • The family’s first-contact physician: comprehensive general practice, preventative care and the management of acute presentations.
  • Travel with the family between residences and abroad, carrying clinical responsibility wherever the family is.
  • Continuity of care across a small, stable patient panel, with referral to and coordination of specialist input when it is needed.
  • Absolute adherence to household protocol and non-disclosure frameworks.

Candidate Requirements

  • Family medicine / general practice training — CCT in General Practice or a recognised European equivalent.
  • Substantial independent experience as a GP or family medicine physician in a UK or European healthcare system.
  • Current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing.
  • Readiness to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice, and complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • Willingness to relocate alone: this is a live-in, single-status appointment.
  • Impeccable discretion, diplomatic etiquette and fluent English.
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.

  • £240,000 per annum, tax-free, with accommodation and travel included.

  • All travel with the family arranged and covered by the household.
  • Generous annual leave.

What this appointment asks of you

This is general practice for one family, taken on the road. In Riyadh the physician is the family’s GP — assessment, preventative medicine, chronic disease review, minor acute care and timely referral — and when the family moves, the physician moves with them, so that the same doctor is present and reachable wherever they are. The household selects for a well-rounded family medicine physician who is comfortable working without a practice team around them, who plans the medical side of each trip in advance, and who knows when a presentation needs a specialist or a hospital. Discretion, composure and an easy, unobtrusive manner matter as much as clinical breadth.

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

Reading the package

Base remuneration for this appointment is £240,000 per annum, with accommodation and travel included, paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in Saudi Arabia, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.

Living in Riyadh

The capital rewards clinicians who arrive with a plan for their time off: the Diplomatic Quarter’s parks and restaurants, Diriyah’s historic district, and a winter calendar of concerts, sport and exhibitions that did not exist a few years ago. Accommodation is provided by the family, within the residence, which removes the largest relocation variable at a stroke.

Direct flights to London take around seven hours, and much of the year will be spent travelling with the family rather than in one city. How we run this search

Every appointment of this kind follows the same discipline. Your qualifications, registration and references are then verified before anyone else is involved.

The family or its office is briefed anonymously. Your name and documents are shared only with your written authorisation, first-stage interviews are held by video, and a final meeting is arranged in person — usually with travel organised by the family.
