Neonatal Nurse — Private Family, Riyadh

Medical Staff Talent

Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Neonatal Nurse to a private family in Riyadh, providing specialist newborn care within a dedicated family care unit inside the residence.

The role manages a named infant rather than a corridor caseload, with close coordination with visiting paediatric consultants and calm continuity for the wider family.

The Mandate

  • Specialist neonatal care for a named infant within the household.
  • Close coordination with visiting paediatric and neonatal consultants.
  • Calm continuity of care and confidential liaison with family members on care planning.
  • Absolute discretion under NDA.

Candidate Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification from a Tier-1 UK or European institution, with current registration (NMC, NMBI or an equivalent European regulator) and neonatal specialisation.
  • Minimum five years’ experience, including substantive neonatal or special care baby unit practice.
  • Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
  • Fluent English.
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
  • Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
  • Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.

Package

  • From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
  • Private accommodation within the residence and relocation arranged by the family
  • Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

What this appointment asks of you

The appointment places a specialist neonatal nurse at the centre of a private family’s care for a named infant, working from a dedicated family care unit inside the residence and coordinating closely with visiting neonatal and paediatric consultants. The clinical content is what a special care baby unit nurse knows — feeding, growth and thermoregulation, infection control, medication precision, developmental surveillance — applied to one child over a long period, with the parents as informed partners. The household selects for five years of substantive neonatal practice, immaculate record-keeping and the composure to hold a clinical line courteously within a private residence. Riyadh’s protocol is exact and the environment is exceptionally well resourced.

How the package is structured

The package starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. It is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: Saudi Arabia levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.

Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.

End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Riyadh

Riyadh is the Kingdom’s capital and its administrative centre, and the city has changed at a pace that surprises clinicians who last visited a decade ago: new districts, a metro, an events calendar that runs through the winter, and a residential market that ranges from the Diplomatic Quarter to the established international compounds in the north of the city. Household appointments normally come with accommodation within the residence, provided by the family, so your decision is about days off rather than house-hunting.

Winters are mild and bright; summers are hot and lived indoors or early in the day. London is around seven hours by direct flight. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone. The cultural adjustment guide covers the unwritten rules.

How the search is run

We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.

If you proceed, your credentials are verified, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are agreed directly between you and the family. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a nurse appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side of the process.
