Medical Staff Talent
Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Private Maternity Nurse to a private family in Doha, providing newborn care and post-natal recovery nursing for a member of the family within the private residence.
The appointment sits within the household’s wider medical infrastructure — a personal physician, visiting obstetric and paediatric consultants and a paediatric nursing team — with the maternity nurse holding the nursery for the first months of the child’s life.
The Mandate
- Newborn care from birth: feeding support, sleep and settling routines, growth and jaundice surveillance and safe-sleep governance within the nursery.
- Post-natal recovery nursing for the mother in coordination with the household’s physician and visiting consultants.
- Nursery protocols and a structured handover to the household’s paediatric nursing team at the end of the engagement.
- Absolute discretion under NDA.
Candidate Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification from a Tier-1 UK or European institution, with current registration (NMC, NMBI or an equivalent European regulator) and either registered midwife status or substantive maternity, neonatal or newborn-care practice.
- Minimum five years’ experience, including substantive newborn and post-natal care in private or high-standing settings.
- Demonstrated discretion in confidential household environments.
- Fluent English.
- Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
- Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
- The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
- Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.
Package
- From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
- Private accommodation within the residence and relocation arranged by the family
- Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability
Scope of Our Role
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
What this appointment asks of you
Doha’s household already has its medical infrastructure in place — a personal physician, visiting consultants and paediatric nurses — and is adding the one specialist it lacks for the months around a birth. The maternity nurse takes the nursery: feeding, sleep and settling, growth and jaundice surveillance, safe-sleep governance, the mother’s recovery, and the daily brief to the physician and the parents. When the engagement ends, the protocols she has built pass to the household’s paediatric nurses without a gap. Five years including substantive newborn and post-natal practice is the threshold; the household will select for precision, unhurried calm and absolute discretion.
Reading the package
Base remuneration starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment, and is paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in Qatar, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.
Because accommodation and flights sit outside the base figure, the practical comparison is with your current net pay after rent, commuting and tax — not with your gross salary. Our note on reading the real numbers behind a tax-free salary walks through that arithmetic.
An end-of-service gratuity accrues for every completed year of service and is settled on departure — see end-of-service gratuity and repatriation for the calculation and the contract clauses that govern it.
Your home-country tax position on departure — split-year treatment for UK residents, exit formalities elsewhere in Europe — is worth settling with an independent cross-border adviser before the first salary lands, and cost of living and net position for Gulf clinicians gives the household-level numbers.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Doha
Qatar’s capital is the easiest Gulf city to navigate day to day — short distances, a modern metro, a Corniche for early mornings and a winter season of sport and culture — and the household provides accommodation within the residence for this appointment, which removes the main relocation variable.
Direct flights to London take around seven hours. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers what nobody puts in the offer letter.
What happens when you apply
The household has retained us exclusively, which shapes how the search runs: there is no agency panel and no CV database. Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, holds a confidential briefing call with every candidate we take forward — the appointment in detail, the household’s expectations and the life around the post — before anything is committed to paper.
From there the sequence is fixed: dossier and credential verification, an anonymised profile to the family office with your written authorisation, video interviews, an in-person meeting arranged by the household, then offer, NDA and a contract agreed directly with the family. The time-to-hire estimator shows what each stage takes for a nurse appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side.
