Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Private Duty Nurse to a private family in Doha.

The post sits within a private residential setting with full support from an on-site clinical team and direct liaison with the family principals. It suits a nurse who values autonomy in patient care alongside collegial clinical backing.

The Mandate

  • One-on-one care delivered to the highest private nursing standard.
  • Full support from an established on-site clinical team.
  • Direct liaison with family principals on care planning.
  • Absolute discretion under strict NDA.

Candidate Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing.
  • Minimum six years private duty or high-acuity care experience.
  • Trained in a Tier-1 UK or European healthcare system — UK, Ireland, or an accepted European jurisdiction — with current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing.
  • Fluent English.
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
  • Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
  • Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.

Package

  • From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment, paid net
  • Private accommodation and flights included.

What this appointment asks of you

Unlike many residential posts, this one comes with an established on-site clinical team, which changes the texture of the work: you will practise one-to-one nursing to the highest private standard with colleagues to consult, a physician on hand, and direct liaison with the family principals on care planning. The remit covers continuous nursing for named members of the household — health monitoring, medication governance, post-procedural care, coordination of visiting specialists — inside a private residential setting governed by strict NDA. Six years of private duty or high-acuity experience is the entry point; the household is selecting for a nurse who combines clinical independence with the collegiality to work well inside a small permanent team.

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

How the package is structured

The package starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. It is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: Qatar levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.

Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.

End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Doha

Doha is compact, calm and well organised: West Bay and The Pearl for waterfront living, Lusail as the new city to the north, Msheireb’s restored downtown, Education City’s universities and a cultural offer led by the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family — private quarters within the residence — so relocation is about settling in rather than searching.

Winters are pleasant and outdoor; summers are hot and humid. Hamad International flies direct to London and the European hubs in around seven hours. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

How we run this search

Every appointment of this kind follows the same discipline. It begins with a confidential briefing call with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, covering your clinical profile, your motivations and your readiness to relocate alone; nothing is written down that you have not agreed to share. Your qualifications, registration and references are then verified before anyone else is involved.

The household or its family office is briefed anonymously. Your name and documents are shared only with your written authorisation, first-stage interviews are held by video, and a final meeting is arranged in person — usually with travel organised by the household. Offer, NDA and contract follow, agreed directly between you and the family. Our time-to-hire estimator shows how long each stage takes; the confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting pages explain how the household side is governed.
