Medical Staff Talent

Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is mandated to introduce a UK & European-trained Family Medicine Physician to a private family based in Dubai: a GP who serves as the family’s own doctor at home and travels with them between residences and abroad.

The Mandate

First-contact and continuing family medicine for the Principal and immediate family — preventative care, chronic disease review, acute presentations and timely referral — delivered at the residence in Dubai and wherever the family travels. The physician works alongside the household’s other clinicians, such as a private nurse or physiotherapist, so that care stays joined up across an internationally mobile life.

Requirements

  • Family medicine / general practice training — CCT in General Practice or a recognised European equivalent
  • Substantial independent experience as a GP or family medicine physician in a UK or European healthcare system
  • Current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing
  • Readiness to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice, and complete flexibility around the family’s calendar
  • Willingness to relocate alone: this is a live-in, single-status appointment
  • A discreet, refined professional manner and complete fluency in English
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer

Package

  • £240,000 per annum, gross, with accommodation and travel included
  • Private accommodation within the residence
  • All travel with the family arranged and covered by the household
  • Generous annual paid leave

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

What this appointment asks of you

A family GP with a passport ready. Day to day, the work is broad general practice for a handful of patients: health checks and screening, the management of long-term conditions, minor illness and injury, and knowing exactly when to bring in a specialist. When the family travels — between residences in the region, to Europe for the summer, or further afield — the physician goes too, plans the medical side of each trip and remains the family’s single point of clinical contact. The family is selecting for a physician who is calm, self-sufficient and evidence-led, comfortable working without a practice team around them, and discreet in every setting. When you travel with the family, all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

How the package is structured

The figure quoted above — £240,000 per annum, with accommodation and travel included — is base remuneration. It is a gross salary, agreed directly with the family and paid into the bank account of your choice. Take advice from your own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in your circumstances.

Accommodation, transport and travel with the family sit outside the base figure — we ask every physician to confirm how indemnity will be arranged, and to check the territory, the limits and the run-off cover before signing, and our note on malpractice insurance in the Gulf explains what to look for.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC gross package calculator or the Gulf package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Dubai

Dubai needs little introduction: a global hub with direct flights to almost everywhere, which suits an appointment built around travel. The family provides private quarters within the residence, so the practical question is how you will spend your time off between trips.

Winters are the reason people stay; summers are hot and lived indoors or on the water early in the day, and are often spent travelling with the family. London is around seven hours by direct flight. Every appointment is live-in and single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

How the search is run

We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the family selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.

If you proceed, your credentials are verified, the family is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are agreed directly between you and the family. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physician appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the family’s side of the process.
