Medical Staff Talent
Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
A prominent private family in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior VIP Private Nurse for a confidential, high-touch primary nursing role. This is a single-patient placement inside a private residence, demanding total professional discretion and a refined, senior clinical presence.
The Mandate
Deliver exclusive primary nursing care encompassing clinical health monitoring, preventive care routines, and international medical coordination for the family. The role calls for impeccable single-patient case management and seamless coordination with visiting specialists and international care teams.
Requirements
- UK & European-trained Registered Nurse (BSN or equivalent), 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in high-end private nursing, intensive care, or VIP family health management
- Current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing
- Fluent English essential
- Strict NDA compliance and total professional discretion mandatory
- Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
- Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
- The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
Package
- £70,000 – £85,000 per annum, tax-free
- Private accommodation provided within the residence
- Annual flight allowances and generous annual leave
Scope of Our Role
Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
What this appointment asks of you
Single-patient case management at senior level is the heart of this post. Beyond clinical monitoring and preventive routines, the nurse is the coordinating intelligence of the patient’s care — scheduling and briefing visiting specialists, liaising with international care teams when treatment takes place abroad, maintaining a record that travels with the patient, and translating specialist advice into a daily plan the household can follow. The seniority is real: the family wants a refined clinical presence who can hold a conversation with a professor of medicine in the morning and run a medication reconciliation in the afternoon. Intensive care, high-end private nursing or VIP family health management backgrounds all fit, provided discretion is absolute.
How the package is structured
The figure quoted above — £70,000 – £85,000 per annum — is base remuneration, and it is paid tax-free: the UAE levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so the number on the offer is the number that arrives.
Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.
End-of-service gratuity accrues under local labour law for each completed year and is paid when the contract ends; our note on end-of-service gratuity and repatriation explains how it is calculated and what to check in the contract.
If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; tax-free wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is the federal capital and the quieter of the two Emirati cities: island neighbourhoods, a long Corniche, Saadiyat’s museums and beaches, Yas Island’s sport and entertainment, and a residential market that favours villas and calm. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family — private quarters within the residence — so relocation is about settling rather than searching.
Winters are mild and outdoor; summers are hot. Abu Dhabi International flies direct to London and the European hubs, and Dubai is little more than an hour by road. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.
What happens when you apply
The household has retained us exclusively, which shapes how the search runs: there is no agency panel and no CV database. Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, holds a confidential briefing call with every candidate we take forward — the appointment in detail, the household’s expectations and the life around the post — before anything is committed to paper.
From there the sequence is fixed: dossier and credential verification, an anonymised profile to the family office with your written authorisation, video interviews, an in-person meeting arranged by the household, then offer, NDA and a contract agreed directly with the family. The time-to-hire estimator shows what each stage takes for a nurse appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side.
