Licensing and Relocation

Medical Staff Talent provides discreet advisory guidance on documentation, licensing and onboarding throughout, including DHA registration and what Dataflow primary source verification will ask of you and when. See our Gulf healthcare licensing support for the full sequence.

What this appointment asks of you

Ongoing physiotherapy and mobility care for one principal, delivered within a two-physiotherapist rotation inside a permanent care team of four nurses, two physiotherapists and a doctor. The work is manual therapy, rehabilitation and pain management for an older patient — maintaining function, managing chronic musculoskeletal presentations, supporting mobility and independence — coordinated with the wider team and with external specialists wherever the principal is in residence. The post is based in Dubai and travels internationally with the household. Four years of recent clinical experience with demonstrated competence in manual therapy and pain management is the requirement; the rotation offers collegial cover, and the renewable contract offers a measured entry into private household work.

Licensing sequence: DHA, Dubai

The regulator in Dubai is the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); applications run through the Sheryan portal and the route for this appointment is:

  • DataFlow primary source verification of your physiotherapy degree, current registration (HCPC, CORU or your European regulator), certificate of good standing and experience letters on institutional letterhead — typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier.
  • DHA eligibility assessment: HCPC, CORU and equivalent European registrations are generally accepted at Tier-1, and we confirm the assessment position before you commit.
  • Issue of the eligibility letter, then licence activation under the licensed private medical entity associated with the household, followed by the residence visa and Emirates ID.
  • Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day.

With a complete dossier on day one we usually see DHA eligibility inside eight to twelve weeks. Our DHA licensing guide walks through each stage, registration versus licence explains why the eligibility letter is not yet a licence, and licensing for private residences explains how a household appointment is sponsored. Physiotherapists should also read DHA physiotherapist licensing in 2026.

Reading the package

Base remuneration for this appointment is from £60,000 per annum, paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in the UAE, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.

Because accommodation, flights and health cover sit outside the base figure, the practical comparison is with your current net pay after rent, commuting and tax — not with your gross salary. Our note on reading the real numbers behind a tax-free salary walks through that arithmetic.

An end-of-service gratuity accrues for every completed year of service and is settled on departure — see end-of-service gratuity and repatriation for the calculation and the contract clauses that govern it.

Your home-country tax position on departure — split-year treatment for UK residents, exit formalities elsewhere in Europe — is worth settling before the first salary lands; we introduce candidates to a cross-border adviser, and cost of living and net position for Gulf clinicians gives the household-level numbers.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Dubai

The city is easy to arrive in and easy to leave from, which matters when a household travels as much as this one: Dubai International sits twenty minutes from most of the city and flies direct to London, Zurich, Athens and the main European hubs. Accommodation for the appointment is provided by the family, which removes the one part of Dubai relocation that is genuinely difficult.

For days off there is the coast, the desert, the sporting calendar and a restaurant scene that is now among the best in the world. Families will want our Dubai districts and school catchments guide for catchments and commuting, the international school fees benchmark for fees, and the cultural adjustment guide for the unwritten rules.

How the search is run

We run this search as a full-cycle search under a retained, confidential mandate. The first conversation is with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, and it is a briefing rather than a screening: what the appointment involves day to day, what the household selects for, and whether it fits the life you want. Your CV goes nowhere until you say so.

If you proceed, your dossier is checked against the licensing route above, the household is briefed on an anonymised profile, and interviews run by video before an in-person meeting arranged by the family. Offer, NDA and contract are settled before any licensing fee is incurred. The time-to-hire estimator gives realistic timings for a physiotherapist appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side of the process.

Confidential Application

Applications are reviewed by our Executive Search Lead and handled discreetly. Nothing is shared with the household without your written authorisation, and first-stage interviews are conducted by video call. Comparable mandates are set out on our Physiotherapists practice page, or register directly through the confidential candidate portal.
