Medical Staff Talent maintains a continuously open register for UK & European-trained family medicine physicians (GPs) and senior nurses available for short-term cover with Private Families across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar — and on Mediterranean yachts when travelling with the family. Locum appointments of two to twelve weeks are rarely advertised: they are filled from this register, often within days, by clinicians who have already cleared vetting and verification.

What These Appointments Look Like

Short-term cover of two to twelve weeks: for annual leave, for the Ramadan and Eid periods when a household’s clinical team rotates home, or for an urgent clinical need routed with expedited confidentiality. The setting is the household’s own medical facility or the principal’s residence, with accommodation provided within the residence for the duration of the cover. For physicians, locum cover means stepping in as the family’s travelling GP — first-contact family medicine at the residence and on the move. Locum appointments suit family medicine physicians and senior private nurses between substantive appointments, and they are frequently how a first Gulf appointment begins — many households offer a substantive post to a clinician they have already worked with. Like every appointment we place, locum cover is live-in and single-status. This is one of the five deployment models private families use for their clinicians.

Credential Standard

Every clinician on this register holds a UK or European qualification — family medicine / general practice training (CCT in General Practice or a European equivalent) for physicians, a recognised nursing qualification for nurses — with an active registration in good standing, and has been verified at source before being matched to a mandate. Because cover opens at short notice, we keep verified credentials on file in advance so that a placement is not held hostage to a portal. More on our candidate standard is on our Candidates page.

What every family asks of you

• Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
• The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
• For nursing cover, nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.

Typical Package

• Agreed as a daily or weekly rate, tax-free, pro rata to the bands on our current mandates: £240,000 per annum, tax-free, with accommodation and travel included, for family medicine physicians; nursing packages start from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
• Household accommodation and flights for the duration of the cover
• Temporary contract basis: the rate is priced to reflect what a full-time clinician receives in kind, contracted directly between the family and the clinician
• Strict confidentiality throughout

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

Cover that never reaches a public board goes to the clinicians already on this register. Registering means you are contacted the moment a genuine cover opens with one of our private clients in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha — you are not applying to one specific advertised role.
