Maternity Nurse Pair — Newborn Care for a Private Family, Abu Dhabi

A private family in Abu Dhabi has asked Medical Staff Talent to introduce a pair of UK & European-trained Maternity Nurses. The family is expecting its first child and wants two maternity nurses in place from the last weeks of pregnancy through the baby’s first months.

The family always employs two nurses so that care never depends on one person. The two nurses alternate 12-hour day and night shifts, with a handover at each change. As is usual for household appointments in the Gulf, the family expects availability around the clock and a six-day working week.

The Mandate

• Newborn care day and night: feeding support, sleep routines, bathing and safe-sleep practice.
• Post-natal recovery care for the mother, working with her obstetrician.
• Observation and early recognition of jaundice, feeding problems or infection.
• Teaching and supporting the parents and nannies as the baby grows.
• Complete confidentiality, under a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Requirements

• Registered nurse or midwife trained in the UK or Europe, with substantial maternity, post-natal or newborn care experience.
• At least 5 years of post-registration experience.
• Comfortable working as one of two nurses alternating 8- or 12-hour shifts, with careful handovers.
• Infant feeding or lactation support training is valued.
• Fluent English and a calm, courteous manner.
• Availability to begin within six weeks of offer.
• Willingness to relocate alone to a live-in, single-status appointment, and to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.
• Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Package

• From €5,000 a month.
• Medical insurance is covered; professional indemnity insurance is not included. Flights and travel are always paid for by the family.

• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Private accommodation in the residence, provided free.
• Permanent role with annual leave, under a contract renewed yearly with the family.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
