Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent has been retained by a private family based in Jeddah to introduce a Travelling Family Medicine Physician: a UK & European-trained GP who looks after the family at their Red Sea residence and goes with them whenever they travel.

The appointment is personal and continuous — one family, a small patient panel and the same doctor at home, between residences and abroad, often at short notice.

The Mandate

  • General practice for the Principal and immediate family: assessment, health checks, preventative care and the management of minor illness and acute presentations.
  • Accompanying the family between residences and on international travel, with responsibility for the medical planning of each trip.
  • Review of long-term conditions and referral to, and coordination with, specialists and private hospitals when they are needed.
  • Strict observance of household protocol and non-disclosure arrangements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Family medicine / general practice training — CCT in General Practice or a recognised European equivalent.
  • Substantial independent experience as a GP or family medicine physician in a UK or European healthcare system.
  • Current registration with your UK or European regulator, in good standing.
  • Readiness to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice, and complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • Willingness to relocate alone: this is a live-in, single-status appointment.
  • Discretion, cultural sensitivity and fluent English.
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.

Package

  • £240,000 per annum, tax-free, with accommodation and travel included.
  • Live-in, single-status appointment: private accommodation within the family’s residence.
  • All travel with the family arranged and covered by the household.
  • Generous annual leave.

What this appointment asks of you

Think of it as a practice of one family that happens to move. At home in Jeddah, the physician is the person the family calls first — for a check-up, a worrying symptom, a child’s fever or a question about a specialist’s advice. On the road, the physician is the reason the family does not have to find a stranger when something goes wrong. The family will look for a well-rounded GP who is at ease working alone, who plans ahead for each journey, and who is clear about when a problem can be handled at home and when it needs a hospital. A calm, courteous manner and complete discretion matter as much as clinical range.

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

Reading the package

Base remuneration for this appointment is £240,000 per annum, with accommodation and travel included, paid without deduction: Saudi Arabia levies no personal income tax on employment earnings, so a Gulf figure should not be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.

Accommodation within the residence and travel with the family come on top of base; before signing, ask how indemnity will be arranged and check the policy territory and run-off provision — medical liability in the UAE and Saudi Arabia lists the questions worth asking.

Living in Jeddah

Jeddah is the Kingdom’s Red Sea gateway: coastal, mercantile and more relaxed in tempo than the capital. Days off can mean the Corniche at dawn, the old merchant houses of Al-Balad, or diving and boating along the coast north towards Obhur. Accommodation is provided by the family within the residence, so there is no flat-hunting to do on arrival.

King Abdulaziz International Airport has direct flights to London and the main European hubs, and much of the year is likely to be spent travelling with the family. How we run this search

The search starts with a confidential briefing call with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead: your clinical background, what you want from the next few years, and whether travelling with a family and relocating alone suits you. Nothing goes on paper without your agreement, and your qualifications, registration and references are verified before anyone else sees your profile.

The family or its office then receives an anonymised profile. Your identity and documents are released only with your written consent; first interviews take place by video and a final meeting is held in person, normally with travel arranged by the family.
