Travelling Family Physician — Paediatric-Capable GP, Doha

A private family in Doha has asked Medical Staff Talent to introduce a UK & European-trained Travelling Family Physician comfortable caring for children. Young children make up most of the family’s patient panel, and the parents want a doctor who will be part of their daily routine at home and on holiday.

Travel with the family is frequent — European summers, the family yacht and trips arranged at short notice.

The Mandate

• Family medicine for the children and parents, including growth, development checks and immunisations.
• Management of common childhood illness at home and clear escalation when a hospital is needed.
• Close working with the family’s nurses and nannies on medicines, allergies and safety plans.
• Travelling with the children and their parents, with medical planning for each destination.
• Complete confidentiality, under a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Requirements

• CCT in General Practice or a European family medicine equivalent, with substantive paediatric exposure (a paediatric rotation, child-health diploma or equivalent).
• At least 7 years of independent practice in UK or European general practice or family medicine.
• Full registration, in good standing, with a UK or European medical regulator.
• Paediatric life-support certification (APLS or EPLS) is valued.
• Fluent English.
• Able to start within six weeks of an offer.
• Willingness to relocate alone to a live-in, single-status appointment, and to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.
• Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Package

• £240,000 per annum gross, with accommodation and travel included.
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Private accommodation in the residence, provided free.
• Permanent role with annual leave, under a contract renewed yearly with the family.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
