Geriatric & Dementia Care Nurse Pair — Private Family, Abu Dhabi

Medical Staff Talent is searching for two UK & European-trained Geriatric & Dementia Care Nurses for a private family based in Abu Dhabi. The family’s grandfather is living with dementia, and the family wants calm, consistent nursing at home from two nurses who will get to know him well.

The family always employs two nurses so that care never depends on one person. The two permanent nurses alternate daily 8-hour shifts, with on-call cover overnight. As is usual for household appointments in the Gulf, the family expects availability around the clock and a six-day working week.

The Mandate

• Person-centred dementia care: routine, orientation, nutrition and hydration.
• Medication management and monitoring of long-term conditions.
• Working with the family physician and geriatrician on changes in need.
• Supporting family members and household staff in caring well.
• Strict observance of household protocol and the family’s NDA.

Requirements

• Registered nurse trained in the UK or Europe, with substantial experience in older-adult and dementia care.
• At least 6 years of post-registration experience.
• Comfortable working as one of two nurses alternating 8- or 12-hour shifts, with careful handovers.
• Experience of palliative care at home is valued.
• Fluent English and proven discretion in private settings.
• Availability to begin within six weeks of offer.
• Able to relocate alone (live-in, single-status) and to travel anywhere in the world with the family, often at short notice.

Package

• From €5,000 a month.
• Medical insurance is covered; professional indemnity insurance is not included.
• Flights and travel are always paid for by the family.
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Fully free accommodation within the family’s residence.
• Permanent, with annual leave and a contract that is renewed every year.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
