PICU Paediatric Critical Care Nurse Pair — Private Family, Abu Dhabi

A private family in Abu Dhabi has asked Medical Staff Talent to introduce a pair of UK & European-trained PICU-experienced Paediatric Nurses. A young child with complex medical needs is being cared for at home, and the family wants two nurses with paediatric intensive care experience.

The family always employs two nurses so that care never depends on one person. The two permanent nurses alternate daily 12-hour shifts, so that one of them is always on duty. Availability 24/7 and a six-day week are part of the appointment, as is usual with private families in the Gulf.

The Mandate

• Complex paediatric care: tracheostomy, gastrostomy feeding and medication.
• Close observation and rapid response to change, with clear escalation pathways.
• Working with the child’s paediatric consultants and therapists.
• Supporting siblings and parents within the routine of family life.
• Complete confidentiality, under a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Requirements

• Registered nurse trained in the UK or Europe, with paediatric intensive care (PICU) experience.
• At least 6 years of post-registration experience.
• Comfortable working as one of two nurses alternating 8- or 12-hour shifts, with careful handovers.
• Experience of paediatric long-term ventilation is valued.
• Fluent English and a calm, courteous manner.
• Able to start within six weeks of an offer.
• Willingness to relocate alone to a live-in, single-status appointment, and to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.
• Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Package

• From €5,000 a month.
• Medical insurance is covered; professional indemnity insurance is not included.
• Flights and travel are always paid for by the family.
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Private accommodation in the residence, provided free.
• Permanent role with annual leave, under a contract renewed yearly with the family.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
