Private Yacht Physician — Private Family Medical Travel, Mediterranean

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Physician to the privately owned vessel of a private Gulf family, delivering continuity of care while voyaging through the Mediterranean. This is a permanent, live-in appointment with the family, with annual leave, renewed each year. Once in post, you travel continuously with the family across several countries; flights and travel are always paid for by the family.

The Mandate

• Sole medical authority on board as the vessel navigates an itinerary across the Mediterranean’s coastal destinations.
• Frontline clinical decision-making for the Principal, family and crew, combining general medicine competency with acute response capability at sea.
• Clinical coordination with specialists ashore as required.
• Absolute discretion under NDA.

Requirements

• Medical degree with broad clinical competency (Emergency Medicine, General Practice or Internal Medicine background preferred).
• Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience.
• UK & European training.
• Comfort with extended periods at sea and irregular working patterns.
• Fluent English.
• Availability to begin within six weeks of offer.
• Live-in and single-status: you relocate alone, with full flexibility to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.

Package

• £218,000 per annum gross, with free accommodation, flights and travel paid, and medical insurance covered (professional indemnity insurance is not included).
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Onboard accommodation.
• Annual leave; the appointment is renewed each year.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
