Travelling Family Medicine Physician — Prevention & Continuity Care, Al Khobar

Medical Staff Talent is introducing a UK & European-trained Travelling Family Medicine Physician to a private family in Al Khobar, in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. A family based on the Eastern Province coast wants a GP who will turn ad hoc appointments into a planned year of preventive care.

Travel with the family between residences and abroad: summers in Europe, time on the family’s yacht and short-notice trips. Six-day weeks and 24/7 availability are normal in Gulf household appointments, and the family plans around both.

The Mandate

• General practice for the family at the residence, with same-day review of acute problems.
• Structured health checks and screening for each adult, scheduled around business travel.
• A single medical record for the family, kept up to date with every specialist and hospital contact.
• Travel medicine for frequent trips within the region and to Europe, often with little notice.
• Complete confidentiality, under a strict non-disclosure agreement.

Requirements

• CCT in General Practice or an equivalent European specialist qualification in family medicine, with a strong preventive-care record.
• At least 8 years of independent practice in UK or European general practice or family medicine.
• Full registration, in good standing, with a UK or European medical regulator.
• Experience running recall and screening programmes in practice is valued.
• Fluent English.
• Availability to begin within six weeks of offer.
• Willingness to relocate alone to a live-in, single-status appointment, and to travel worldwide with the family at short notice.
• Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Package

• £218,000 per annum gross, with free accommodation, flights and travel paid, and medical insurance covered (professional indemnity insurance is not included).
• The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.
• Private accommodation in the residence, provided free.
• Permanent role with annual leave, under a contract renewed yearly with the family.

Scope of Engagement

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.
