Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Physician as personal medical lead to a private family in Dubai.

The post offers full clinical discretion within a private residential setting, with responsibility for coordinating specialist care as required. It is a permanent, confidential engagement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Board-certified Physician with seven or more years post-fellowship or general practice experience.
  • Trained and licensed in a Tier-1 UK or European system — UK, Ireland, or an accepted European jurisdiction.
  • Fluent English.
  • Eligibility for DHA licensing.

What this appointment asks of you

The family is looking for a physician who can lead, not simply attend. In practice that means owning the family’s medical record and preventative plan, assessing every acute presentation first-hand, managing chronic disease with the same rigour you would apply in a specialist clinic, and orchestrating Dubai’s excellent specialist network on the family’s behalf — choosing the right consultant, briefing them precisely and following the outcome through. The rhythm is quieter than a hospital list and the stakes are personal; a small clinical misjudgement is felt by everyone in the house. The interview process will therefore explore your judgement under ambiguity, your communication with informed and demanding patients, and your willingness to be reachable when the family travels.

Licensing sequence: DHA, Dubai

The regulator in Dubai is the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); applications run through the Sheryan portal and the route for this appointment is:

  • DataFlow primary source verification of your primary medical degree, specialist certification (CCT, CCST, Facharzt or the equivalent European fellowship), current registration, certificate of good standing and experience letters — typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier.
  • DHA eligibility assessment: Tier-1 specialist certification generally exempts you from the DHA assessment, and consultant-grade eligibility follows the verified CV.
  • Issue of the eligibility letter, then licence activation under the licensed private medical entity associated with the household, followed by the residence visa and Emirates ID.
  • Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day.

Reading the package

Base remuneration for this appointment is £290,000 – £360,000 per annum, paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in the UAE, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.

Living in Dubai

The city is easy to arrive in and easy to leave from, which matters when a household travels as much as this one: Dubai International sits twenty minutes from most of the city and flies direct to London, Zurich, Athens and the main European hubs. Accommodation for the appointment is provided by the family, which removes the one part of Dubai relocation that is genuinely difficult.
