Medical Staff Talent

Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent is appointing a UK & European-trained Private Duty Nurse to a private family residence in Doha, leading post-operative and convalescent care within the home. The engagement is permanent and covered by a strict non-disclosure agreement.

The Mandate

Management of the recovery pathway following elective surgery undertaken abroad — wound care, mobility progression, medication governance and structured liaison with the operating team and visiting consultants. The post then continues into ongoing family health management.

Clinical Environment

A residential medical suite equipped for high-dependency convalescent care within a private compound. Staffing is permanent and small; the nurse works to the family’s rhythm rather than a ward schedule.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from a Tier-1 UK or European institution
  • Registration in a Tier-1 UK or European system — NMC, NMBI, or an equivalent European regulator
  • Substantive post-operative, surgical or high-dependency experience
  • Demonstrated discretion in confidential environments
  • Fluent English
  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer
  • Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar
  • The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice
  • Nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care

Package

  • From €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment
  • Private furnished accommodation
  • Relocation arranged by the family
  • Annual leave with flights home and long-term contract stability

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

What this appointment asks of you

The first phase of this appointment is a recovery pathway: the family member returns from elective surgery abroad and the nurse leads convalescence at home — wound care, mobility progression, medication governance, monitoring for complications, and structured liaison with the operating team overseas and the consultants who visit in Doha. Once recovery is complete the post continues into ongoing family health management, so the household is selecting for a nurse who can move from high-dependency vigilance to steady preventative care without losing precision. Substantive post-operative, surgical or high-dependency experience is required; the residential suite is equipped for it, and the small permanent staff works to the family’s rhythm rather than a ward’s.

How the package is structured

The package starts from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. It is a gross salary, agreed directly with the family and paid into the bank account of your choice. Take advice from your own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in your circumstances.

Accommodation and flights are provided in addition to base, which is what makes the net position so different from a UK or European salary: with housing and travel carried by the household, most of the base figure is savings capacity. Health insurance in Gulf contracts explains the cover clauses worth reading twice.

If you are leaving the UK part-way through a tax year, split-year treatment under the Statutory Residence Test usually applies; keep a day-count from the date you leave and take advice from an independent cross-border adviser; wealth preservation for Gulf clinicians sets out the planning points.

Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC gross package calculator or the Gulf package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.

Living in Doha

Doha is compact, calm and well organised: West Bay and The Pearl for waterfront living, Lusail as the new city to the north, Msheireb’s restored downtown, Education City’s universities and a cultural offer led by the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum. Household appointments include accommodation provided by the family — private quarters within the residence — so relocation is about settling in rather than searching.

Winters are pleasant and outdoor; summers are hot and humid. Hamad International flies direct to London and the European hubs in around seven hours. Every appointment is single-status — the families we work with require clinicians who relocate alone — and the cultural adjustment guide covers the adjustments worth anticipating.

What happens when you apply

The household has retained us exclusively, which shapes how the search runs: there is no agency panel and no CV database. Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, holds a confidential briefing call with every candidate we take forward — the appointment in detail, the household’s expectations and the life around the post — before anything is committed to paper.

From there the sequence is fixed: dossier and credential verification, an anonymised profile to the family office with your written authorisation, video interviews, an in-person meeting arranged by the household, then offer, NDA and a contract agreed directly with the family. The time-to-hire estimator shows what each stage takes for a nurse appointment; confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting explain the household’s side.
