Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists
Medical Staff Talent is appointing a Senior Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to provide dedicated physical therapy for a prominent private family in Doha.
The work is single-patient care within a modern private residence: tailored mobility programmes and acute physical recovery, designed and delivered by one clinician with continuity of relationship.
The Mandate

- Dedicated single-patient care within a private residence.
- Elite clinical standards with complete professional discretion.
Candidate Requirements

- Minimum five years post-qualification in neurological or orthopaedic rehabilitation.
- Trained and licensed in a Tier-1 UK or European system — UK, Ireland, or an accepted European jurisdiction.
- Eligibility for Qatari QCHP registration, with advisory support provided.
Package
- £75,000 – £95,000 per annum, tax-free, tailored to experience and clinical record.
- Private luxury accommodation, full medical cover, annual flights home, end-of-service gratuity.
- QCHP registration and Dataflow verification mapped and briefed at every stage — see Gulf Healthcare Licensing Support.
What this appointment asks of you
The work is single-patient rehabilitation within a modern private residence: tailored mobility programmes, acute recovery after injury or procedure, and the long-horizon conditioning that keeps one person moving well over years rather than weeks. Neurological or orthopaedic rehabilitation experience is required because the caseload, although small, is clinically substantive, and the physiotherapist designs, delivers and progresses every element personally. You will coordinate with visiting consultants on staged plans and keep records to a standard that lets any specialist pick up the thread. Continuity of relationship is the defining feature — the family is choosing a clinician they will see most days, so professional composure and a settled manner weigh heavily.
Licensing sequence: DHP (QCHP), Qatar
The regulator in Qatar is the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) at the Ministry of Public Health, operating the QCHP framework, and the route for this appointment is:
- DataFlow primary source verification of your physiotherapy degree, current registration (HCPC, CORU or your European regulator), certificate of good standing and experience letters on institutional letterhead — typically four to eight weeks with a complete dossier.
- DHP evaluation and registration: a Prometric assessment applies to some allied health categories; we confirm your exemption position before you commit.
- Licence issuance against the sponsoring entity associated with the household, followed by the residence permit and medical examination.
- Household onboarding: NDA execution, accommodation, banking and the practical steps we coordinate with the family office before your first day.
Qatar is a dossier-first jurisdiction — files that are complete and consistent move quickly, files with gaps stall. Our notes on DHP licensing in 2026, the QCHP licensing guide and why Qatar rewards preparation set out what to prepare. Physiotherapists should also read how HCPC registration is assessed in the Gulf.
Reading the package
Base remuneration for this appointment is £75,000 – £95,000 per annum, paid without deduction: there is no personal income tax on employment earnings in Qatar, which is why a Gulf figure should never be compared line-for-line with a gross UK or European salary.
Because accommodation, flights and health cover sit outside the base figure, the practical comparison is with your current net pay after rent, commuting and tax — not with your gross salary. Our note on reading the real numbers behind a tax-free salary walks through that arithmetic.
An end-of-service gratuity accrues for every completed year of service and is settled on departure — see end-of-service gratuity and repatriation for the calculation and the contract clauses that govern it.
Your home-country tax position on departure — split-year treatment for UK residents, exit formalities elsewhere in Europe — is worth settling before the first salary lands; we introduce candidates to a cross-border adviser, and cost of living and net position for Gulf clinicians gives the household-level numbers.
Run your own comparison with the UK versus GCC net position calculator or the Gulf net package estimator; we are happy to walk through the result with you before any interview.
Living in Doha
Qatar’s capital is the easiest Gulf city to navigate day to day — short distances, a modern metro, a Corniche for early mornings and a winter season of sport and culture — and the household provides accommodation for this appointment, which removes the main relocation variable.
Direct flights to London take around seven hours. Our Doha compounds and schools guide covers compounds, schools and commuting, the Gulf family relocation brief explains schooling and spousal employment, and the cultural adjustment guide covers what nobody puts in the offer letter.
How we run this search
Every appointment of this kind follows the same discipline. It begins with a confidential briefing call with Vanessa, our Executive Search Lead, covering your clinical profile, your motivations and your family situation; nothing is written down that you have not agreed to share. Your dossier is then reviewed against the licensing route above so that we know, before anyone else is involved, whether your file will classify cleanly.
The household or its family office is briefed anonymously. Your name and documents are shared only with your written authorisation, first-stage interviews are held by video, and a final meeting is arranged in person — usually with travel organised by the household. Offer, NDA and contract follow, and licensing and mobilisation begin the same week. Our time-to-hire estimator shows how long each stage takes; the confidential hiring process and confidentiality, NDA and vetting pages explain how the household side is governed.
