Private Yacht Doctor, Nurse & Physiotherapist Jobs — Mediterranean Summer & Gulf Winter | Ongoing Register

Medical Staff Talent

Private Medical Recruitment for the Gulf | UK & European Trained Specialists

Medical Staff Talent keeps a continuously open register of UK & European-trained doctors, nurses and physiotherapists for the private medical teams that private families carry aboard their yachts. The appointment is permanent; the family’s year is seasonal and increasingly formal: the household winters at its Gulf residence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh or Doha, moves its yacht to the Mediterranean for the summer — Monaco, Antibes, the Balearics, Sardinia, the Greek islands — and travels internationally in between, and its physician, nurse and physiotherapist travel with it. This page is a standing pipeline rather than a single advertised vacancy: when a family confirms its season plans and briefs us, the clinicians on this register who fit are contacted directly and in confidence.

Who We Place You With

  • Private Families — families operating private yachts alongside their onshore Gulf residences, usually with a standing medical team of two or three
  • Principals and Family Offices — principals whose summer itinerary is built around the vessel, and who retain their own clinician rather than rely on the nearest port

How the Season Works

Expect a rhythm built around the family’s calendar rather than a fixed posting. From roughly May to October the vessel is in Mediterranean waters and the clinician lives aboard with the family; from November to April the household is at its Gulf residence and the clinician works from the family’s private clinical suite; the shoulder months carry international travel by private aviation. This is a permanent, live-in appointment with the family, with annual leave. Once in post, you travel continuously with the family across several countries; flights and travel are always paid for by the family — see how private families appoint their clinicians. The treatment room moves; the standard does not.

The Three Appointments

Travelling Family Medicine Physician (Private Yacht)

The family’s own GP, travelling with them ashore and aboard: first-contact and preventative care for the Principal and family, review of long-term conditions, first response to acute illness at sea, coordination with the vessel’s telemedical support provider and with shore-side specialists at each port, and the medical judgement about when to divert. Family medicine / general practice training (CCT in General Practice or a European equivalent) with current UK or European registration is the requirement. Current mandates pay £218,000 per annum, gross, with free accommodation, flights and travel paid, and medical insurance covered (professional indemnity insurance is not included). Our 2026 guide to doctor jobs aboard private superyachts in the Mediterranean and our note on the private doctor in Dubai with yacht travel describe the appointment; the Private & Concierge Physicians practice page the standard.

Private Yacht Nurse

One-to-one nursing for a principal or a family aboard: medication management, monitoring of chronic and post-operative conditions, family health management including children, and the calm first response when something happens two hours from the nearest hospital. Acute-care, ICU and paediatric backgrounds are preferred. Packages start from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. Our guide to what private families actually expect of a private yacht nurse, our note on clinical rigour and VVIP protocols at sea and the VIP yacht nurse career path are the reads; the Private & Maternity Nurses practice page sets out the standard.

Private Yacht Physiotherapist

One-to-one manual therapy, longevity and performance programming from a bespoke onboard treatment suite — and the adaptability to deliver the same programme in a Gulf residence, a hotel and a private aircraft. Musculoskeletal, sports and longevity specialisms lead. Current mandates pay from £60,000 a year gross, depending on experience. Our 2026 guide to private yacht physiotherapy for Gulf private families and our note on the private physiotherapist in Dubai with yacht travel describe the work; the Physiotherapists & Osteopaths practice page the standard.

Current Yacht and Travelling Mandates

The appointments below are live on our desk today — Mediterranean-based vessels and Gulf households whose clinicians travel with them; the register exists for the ones that are filled before the season is announced.

Credential Standard

Every clinician on this register holds a UK or European qualification with current registration in good standing — GMC registration with family medicine / general practice training, or the European equivalent, for physicians, NMC, NMBI or an EU nursing registration for nurses, HCPC or an EU equivalent for physiotherapists — together with a practice history verified at source before a profile is ever shown to a family. Seagoing experience is welcome but not assumed: the STCW basic safety certificate and the ENG1 seafarer medical are arranged with the vessel’s management once an appointment is confirmed. Full detail is on our Candidates page, and our brief on how Gulf households staff their private yacht medical teams explains what the family is actually checking.

Scope of Our Role

Medical Staff Talent introduces and verifies clinicians. The engagement is contracted directly between the family and the clinician, and all local arrangements (visa, licensed entity, coordination with local clinics) remain with the family’s own office and advisers.

Typical Package

  • £218,000 per annum, gross for physicians; from £60,000 a year gross, depending on experience for physiotherapists; nursing packages start from €5,000 a month, depending on the appointment. For every profession: free accommodation, flights and travel always paid for by the family, medical insurance covered; professional indemnity insurance is not included
  • Onboard accommodation through the season and housing at the Gulf residence through the winter; all travel with the family by private aviation
  • Relocation and travel logistics arranged by the family’s office, with flights home built into the contract
  • Strict confidentiality, under NDA, throughout

The salary is agreed directly between the family and the clinician; each clinician should take advice from their own tax adviser on whether the income is taxable in their circumstances.

How This Register Works

Yacht-based appointments are confidential and move quickly once a family confirms its season plans, so rather than re-advertising each mandate we keep this register continuously live for all three professions. Registering means you are matched the moment a genuine opportunity opens — you are not applying to one specific advertised role.

What every family asks of you

  • Availability to start within six weeks of offer.
  • Complete flexibility around the family’s calendar.
  • The ability to relocate alone and to travel with the family worldwide, often at short notice.
  • Live-in and single-status: the role suits clinicians who relocate alone.
  • For nursing appointments, nurses are always placed in pairs — two nurses alternating shifts — to protect continuity of care.
