Medical Staff Talent keeps a continuously open register of UK & European-trained doctors, nurses and physiotherapists for the private medical teams that UHNW families and Royal Households carry aboard their yachts. The pattern is seasonal and increasingly formal: the household winters at its Gulf residence in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh or Doha, moves its yacht to the Mediterranean for the summer — Monaco, Antibes, the Balearics, Sardinia, the Greek islands — and travels internationally in between, and its physician, nurse and physiotherapist travel with it. This page is a standing pipeline rather than a single advertised vacancy: when a family confirms its season plans and briefs us, the clinicians on this register who fit are contacted directly and in confidence.

Who We Place You With

• Royal Households — sovereign families operating private yachts alongside their onshore Gulf residences, usually with a standing medical team of two or three
• UHNW Families and family offices — principals whose summer itinerary is built around the vessel, and who retain their own clinician rather than rely on the nearest port

How the Season Works

Expect a rhythm built around the family’s calendar rather than a fixed posting. From roughly May to October the vessel is in Mediterranean waters and the clinician lives aboard or in crew accommodation ashore; from November to April the household is at its Gulf residence and the clinician works from the family’s private clinical suite; the shoulder months carry international travel by private aviation. Contracts are written for the whole year, not the season, and travelling appointments are one of the seven deployment models Royal Households use for their clinicians. The treatment room moves; the standard does not.

Private Yacht Doctor

Sole medical authority aboard: assessment and stabilisation of acute illness and trauma at sea, continuity care of a principal’s chronic conditions, coordination with the vessel’s telemedical support provider and with shore-side specialists at each port, and the medical judgement about when to divert. Emergency medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care backgrounds are the most sought; family-medicine and longevity physicians follow. Current mandates run £240,000–£320,000 tax-free per annum. Private Yacht Nurse

One-to-one nursing for a principal or a family aboard: medication management, monitoring of chronic and post-operative conditions, family health management including children, and the calm first response when something happens two hours from the nearest hospital. Acute-care, ICU and paediatric backgrounds are preferred. Current mandates run £53,000–£90,000 tax-free per annum. Private Yacht Physiotherapist

One-to-one manual therapy, longevity and performance programming from a bespoke onboard treatment suite — and the adaptability to deliver the same programme in a Gulf residence, a hotel and a private aircraft. The appointments below are live on our desk today — Mediterranean-based vessels and Gulf households whose clinicians travel with them; the register exists for the ones that are filled before the season is announced.

Credential Standard

Every clinician on this register holds a UK or European qualification with current registration in good standing — GMC specialist registration or a European specialist title for physicians, NMC, NMBI or an EU nursing registration for nurses, HCPC or an EU equivalent for physiotherapists — together with a practice history verified through DataFlow primary source verification before a profile is ever shown to a family. Seagoing experience is welcome but not assumed: the STCW basic safety certificate and the ENG1 seafarer medical are arranged with the vessel’s management once an appointment is confirmed. Licensing at Sea and Ashore

Because these appointments move between jurisdictions, clinicians deploy on their home-country registration, verified through DataFlow, for the time aboard and in transit; the household’s Gulf residence is the part that needs a local licence.
